The EastAsia International College(EIC), founded by Yonsei University Wonju Campus in 2008, is a special program aimed at nurturing and developing budding professionals who will play leading roles in the global age of the 21st century.
This educational course, run by internationally renowned and competitive professors from home and abroad, is specially designed for students to build their specialized knowledge within its broadly-based liberal arts education, in such disciplines as the humanities, social science, and natural science.
The EIC is operated by two major tracks : Politics and Culture, Economy and Business. Students foster their international thinking as well as on-the-spot sensibility through general courses in the liberal arts education for the first and second years, courses for major fields of study, exchange programs and business internships for the third and fourth years.
All four-year courses are conducted exclusively in English, and students should take one East Asian language as a required second foreign language, thereby enabling them to prepare for becoming qualified competent global citizens.
Institutionalizing various programs such as East Asia International Students Conference will maximize students' global competence.
With particular emphasis placed upon a specialized curriculum involving East Asian culture and history, East Asian policy and economy, and East Asian business and management, students will increase their potential to become internationally competent experts in East Asia at the undergraduate level, thus leading Wonju campus' globalization efforts.
